Score Free Tickets for Vets & First Responders!

Catching a MLS game.

Let’s be honest—Mondays can be tough. Whether you’re coming off a duty or drill weekend, prepping for your next deployment, or simply trying to push through the day, a little boost can go a long way.

What if that boost came in the form of free tickets—to concerts, sporting events, plays, comedy shows, and even blockbuster movies?

No catch. No gimmick. Just a well-deserved “thank you” in the form of unforgettable experiences.

If you’re a veteran, active-duty service member, or a first responder, there are organizations out there whose entire mission is to give back to you—and they do it with free to amazing events happening right in your area.

Let’s dive in and get you set up to take advantage of this awesome perk. They believe you’ve earned it.

So, What’s the Deal With Free Tickets?

There are two incredible veteran and first responder nonprofits you should know about:

Take in a show at the Bellagio!
Take in a show at the Bellagio!

For: Veterans, Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, and Immediate Family of those KIA

Vet Tix is a veteran-founded nonprofit that provides free tickets to sports, concerts, performing arts, and family activities across the U.S. They’ve given away over 15 million tickets to date, and the only requirement is that you verify your service once (it’s free to join).

I’ve personally seen everything from:

  • Local theater and orchestra productions

  • MLB, NHL, NFL, and college games

  • Country, rock, pop, and hip-hop concerts

  • Cirque du Soleil and comedy shows

  • And yes—even Super Bowl tickets (though those are super limited and awarded by lottery)

Even if you’re not chasing big events, there are local movie screenings, state fairs, and community theater shows being posted constantly. It’s the little things like a night out at a comedy club that can make a tough week feel lighter.

For: First Responders – Police, Firefighters, EMTs, Nurses, and 911 Dispatchers

1st Tix is like Vet Tix’s sibling—but for first responders. From frontline nurses and paramedics to firefighters and dispatchers, this is a thank-you service specifically for you.

The process is the same: sign up, verify your status, and start browsing events near you. The ticket selection is just as varied and exciting as Vet Tix. Depending on where you live, you might score free seats at:

  • Pro and college sporting events

  • Big-name concerts

  • Family events like Disney on Ice or Harlem Globetrotters

  • Stand-up comedy nights

  • Local art shows or museum events

And here’s the best part: these are legit seats. Some are nosebleeds, sure, but I’ve also seen orchestra-level Broadway seats and center-ice hockey tickets go out too. Time to have some fun so Grab your tickets here and let them know I sent you!

How It Works (The Quick Rundown)

  1. Sign up for Vet Tix or 1st Tix and complete the verification process.

  2. Check the listings regularly. New tickets drop all the time.

  3. Request tickets for events that interest you. Sometimes it’s first-come, first-served. Sometimes it’s a lottery-style drawing.

  4. Pay a small delivery fee (usually under $15 total) to receive the tickets electronically or by mail.

  5. Enjoy the experience, and if possible, share a quick thank-you photo with the donor!

That’s it. No hidden costs. Just memories in the making.

Why This Matters

Let’s face it—when you serve, whether in uniform or on the front lines of community safety,  your job probably doesn’t exactly come with a ton of perks. The hours are long, the stress is real, and the emotional toll can be heavy. Getting something back—something fun, relaxing, and free—isn’t just nice. It’s pretty amazing!

I’ve heard a number of stories from veterans and first responders who’ve been able to take their kids to their first football game, go on a long-overdue date night, or just enjoy a break they didn’t know they needed. These free events can create some great memories—not just for you, but for you and your loved ones.

You’ve done the grind and they have the fun finds!

Real Talk: What You Can Actually Expect

Let’s keep it real—some events, like Super Bowl tickets or major award shows, are going to be very limited and in high demand. But they do exist. I’ve seen members score:

  • Tickets to Hamilton on Broadway

  • VIP seats at WrestleMania

  • Tickets to the World Series

  • Entry into Comic-Con, theme parks, and major expos

Even if you’re not going after the once-in-a-lifetime tickets, the daily listings are packed with great stuff. You’ll likely find multiple events in your area every week, especially in major cities.

So keep checking. Bookmark the sites. And don’t get discouraged if you miss out on something—you never know what’s coming up next.

Monday Pick-Me-Up Challenge

I challenge you: Sign up today. Browse the events. Request just one set of tickets this month.

Even if you don’t have a specific event in mind, getting on the list and seeing what’s out there is a mood booster in itself. It's a little reminder that people out there care about what you do and want you to enjoy the good stuff in life.

So go ahead—turn your Monday around. Claim a night of fun, laughter, music, or whatever sparks your joy.
